Catch me on Good Day LA Friday March 23rd for Foodie Friday!

Hello, my friends!

I’ve been at this food thing for a long time. Ok, maybe not that long in human years, but in dog years, it’s been like…at least forty.

Ten years ago, I went from being the girl who made cakes from a box (just add water, eggs, and oil – easy, peasy) and whose pantry was stocked with Lipton side kicks and hamburger helper-type dehydrated, sodium-filled foods that I also only needed to add water to. When I visited my friend in LA in 2007, she made me a cake from scratch (what??), she bathed me in episodes of the Barefoot Contessa with Ina Garten on the Food Network (Oh, Ina!), and she put out a charcuterie worthy of the finest of mythological meals every single night as a palate warmer before the main meal, which she also whipped up from scratch (mind. blown.).

To say that I left that trip inspired would be a gross understatement.

Upon my return home, I immediately bought all of Ina Garten’s cookbooks, and my career as a chef was born. It has taken some twists and turns over the last decade, and I started this blog eight years ago when I decided to take a giant leap, leave my job, and go to culinary school. Since then, I have documented my journey as a culinary school student, pastry chef, carnivore turned vegetarian, vegetarian turned mostly vegan, vegan turned paleo, single girl to wife, wife to mother, and so many more life experiences I don’t have the space or the energy to recap. I have shared with you my hopes, my fears, my dreams, my successes and my failures.

Today, I get to share one of my successes:

I am proud to announce that I have been invited to appear on the Foodie Friday segment on Good Day LA this coming Friday March 23rd! I’ll be dazzling you and whoever else is tuning in with some of my yummy recipes from my new cookbook, The Accidental Paleo, and hoping to show everyone that paleo can be vegetarian too! Oh, and delicious. Let’s not forget about delicious!

If you’re not in LA and can’t tune in, fear not! I’ll have my handsome assistant and husband, Ted, capturing it live on my Instagram stories (so make sure you’re following me!), and I’ll be sure to get a full clip of it once it’s available.

Thank you for your readership, your support, and for your encouragement. Onward we go!

Love, love, love,

Lauren
