I’ve been on a smoothie kick these days, particularly because of this insane heat wave here in California!
And the best way to make a smoothie is to add extra nutrients to it to make it all the more nutritious!
This smoothie not only has maca powder in it to give you a boost in energy and a dose of protein, but it also has some moringa powder which is said to help balance blood sugar and lower bad cholesterol, some turmeric for inflammation and your immune system, and some flax meal for extra Omega 3’s.
The turmeric gives it a different flavor profile, so if you’re not a fan of turmeric, feel free to leave it out.
Here is what you will need:
1 whole banana, fresh
1 cup frozen mangoes
1/2 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup almond milk
1/4 cup water (plus more if you want it to be more watery)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/4 cup maca powder
1/2 tsp moringa powder
1 tbsp flaxseed meal
1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
2. Add more water or other liquid if it’s too thick for your liking.
3. Optional: Add 1 tbsp of maple syrup for sweetness if you find it’s not sweet enough.
